Mariah Carey told Aspen Peak magazine she hopes to build a home in Aspen after spending 10 Christmases there. Carey, who doesn't ski or snowboard, told the magazine, "I really would like to have a place in Aspen one day. I'm a very specific person. I built the place where I live now (in New York), and I've built places before. I kind of like things to be exactly how I like them. We know what that process takes... a billion years and a billion dollars! I think something on the outskirts would be cool... I really like the serenity, and it looks like something out of an incredible painting. It's so gorgeous. It's not just about celebrity moments there. It's about fun. I actually go tubing all the time."

Goldie Hawn lands on the cover of Aspen Peak magazine this month. She and her family visit their 75-acre ranch in Old Snowmass during the winter holidays and again in the summer. She loves it, she loves Piñons restaurant and the Cantina, and she loves the Hawn Foundation, which teaches kids how to kick back, Goldie Style. "That's a very large undertaking," Hawn says. “Partnering with schools, creating curricula for kids, teaching them how to calm themselves, manage their stress and apply mindfulness practices into different strategies like tolerance, perseverance, patience. It will help give these kids what I call a 'toolbox for life.'"

Über model Heidi Klum is on the cover of the new Aspen Peak magazine - and she's talking about the month she spent there last winter with her three kids and her husband, Seal. Aspen sounds very nice - Heidi-style.
"We rent a big, beautiful place overlooking Aspen," Klum says. "It's like a mountain lodge. It's huge, it fits all the kids, the nannies, and my parents. It's a little hard to get in and out of there, I must say, but it's worth it."

Denver Post
Denver is about to be Magazine City.
The City and Regional Magazine Association hits town for a convention May 5-7. Hundreds of 'ziners from all over will be here to glad-hand, backslap and collect awards. Denver's 5280 is up for three awards this year. And Denver itself is getting more mags. Colorado Dog launches Friday with a party at Prime 121. Woof woof.
Bloom Media is set to launch Shine in June. Billed as Denver's "first luxury lifestyle publication," it's an oversized glossy covering architecture, interior design, fashion, the arts, entertainment, dining, society, philanthropy and travel. These are a few of my favorite things.
It'll come out five times a year, appeal to young society types and reach more than 180,000 people with incomes over $200,000 and a net worth of $2.2 million. Guess I won't be getting a subscription.
And Niche Media - Jason Binn's high-profile concern that publishes the glossy luxe-life mags Aspen Peak, Vegas, Gotham, Los Angeles Confidential, Hamptons, Boston Common - is dreaming up a Denver edition of Aspen Peak. But they aren't talking about it.

Mariah Carey is on the cover of Aspen Peak magazine, so no wonder she's going to be in town Boxing Day (Dec. 26) for a launch party at the Hotel Jerome for the issue.
Her people say she'll mingle, talk about an upcoming movie and her new perfume and tell who she's gonna kiss on New Year's Eve.
"I love the vibe of Aspen," she tells Aspen Peak. "Not necessarily the whole paparazzi-celebrity thing, which is cool, but I do stuff like going on sleigh rides with friends. Being out in Aspen is always so amazing and picturesque."
Asked where she's going to stay in Aspen, Carey says, "I don't know yet, but it has to have a hot tub... It's a tradition for us to have Santa Claus-looking bikinis, jump out of the hot tub, and roll in the fresh snow." Ho daddy!

Niche Media plans to roll out ASPEN PEAK in May with 60,000 copies—and expect to see some smoldering magazine!
The mags in the Niche Media empire are glossy, oversized (10 by 13 inches) and as thick as a holiday Vanity Fair, with pix of beautiful people and ads that make you wanna live like Ralph Lauren.
"Aspen is a strong market with great people," explains publisher Jason Binn. "More importantly, our advertisers are constantly looking for the right eyeballs. And the eyeballs are in Aspen."
