Denver Post
Denver is about to be Magazine City.
The City and Regional Magazine Association hits town for a convention May 5-7. Hundreds of 'ziners from all over will be here to glad-hand, backslap and collect awards. Denver's 5280 is up for three awards this year. And Denver itself is getting more mags. Colorado Dog launches Friday with a party at Prime 121. Woof woof.
Bloom Media is set to launch Shine in June. Billed as Denver's "first luxury lifestyle publication," it's an oversized glossy covering architecture, interior design, fashion, the arts, entertainment, dining, society, philanthropy and travel. These are a few of my favorite things.
It'll come out five times a year, appeal to young society types and reach more than 180,000 people with incomes over $200,000 and a net worth of $2.2 million. Guess I won't be getting a subscription.
And Niche Media - Jason Binn's high-profile concern that publishes the glossy luxe-life mags Aspen Peak, Vegas, Gotham, Los Angeles Confidential, Hamptons, Boston Common - is dreaming up a Denver edition of Aspen Peak. But they aren't talking about it.
